A major problem with Windows from a security perspective is that everyone uses it! Seriously!
The issue here is familiarity. Too much familiarity with something tends to breed over confidence, or sometimes the loss of ability to pay attention to some of the essential detail. This is a familiar tale in the security arena.
Protecting your Windows system means: applying common sense, setting the correct options and setting, and implementing a sensible set of security tools and utilities. It also means on-going management and maintenance.
